Street Style + Smile 4 Style: The Occupy Wall Street Edition.

*Words by Tony Triumph
*Photo's by Kate Morales.

Been brave enough to hammer your britches through Wall Street lately? Are you wondering where in the world all this collective mayhem, those crazy hippies, tents, and their off-the-wall attention grabbing signs arose from? In case you're just as much out of the loop as we were, please hurry and get The Scoop on all the 'Occupy Wall Street' drama here.

Back downtown, and well blended amongst a melting pot of grungy homeless folk, government greed opposition, and conspiracy theory advocates lies a stylish assembly of protesters, passerby's and respect seeking rebels. We didn't find it too hard to finagle through Zucotti Park and love on our favorite mixes and matches over the weekend. The folks that caught our eye were more then likely the visiting activist, artist, and crowd passer's rolling through. Trendy chicness that caused them to standout above any shoddy over-night campers. As you'll see below, most looks were proceeded by an affluence of vintage rags, bohemians fabrics and crude colors.

Quite a few celebrity's have been seen snooping their way around the Occupy Wall Street headquarters as well. Politician Al Sharpton, Documentary maker Michael Moore, Entrepreneur Russel Simmons, and even Musician Kanye West(Right) have all made appearances and garnered this movement some much needed celebrity support. Word's that these celebrity's are rolling through security-less and stopping for photo ops! Must be the happy hippie spirit. So if you plan on stopping by you'd better dress that happy hippie part. Dress like a fresh hippie though, 'cause everybody knows that the appealing get the most press. *wink*. Check out some cool threads below:

Triumphant Discovery's of The Street: Occupy Wall Street.

A face can speak a thousand words, but her tribal print pants are priceless.
Making 90's fashion finally look 'vintage'.

Nice color on color contrast on top of smooth chocolate skin. The bracelets are #winning as well!

This woman seems quite frumpy, but pretty. The cozy colors highlight some cool comforts within her style.

The "I wore this just to fit in" passerby.

Street Style: Tony Triumph for Mari J Brooklyn.

Photos by Artist, Fashion Writer and Street Photographer: Mari J Brooklyn.

Well known by a horde of melodramatic "clubkids", "Soho Celebrity's" and plenty of the popular connoisseurs to NYC's hip local sets, Mari J. Brooklyn has become a public figure by way of her chic personal style. Bringing a great deal of appreciation to the gimmick of paparazzi, Mari J. captures a broad range of street fashion which scales from elite figureheads to hip socialites over to fashion stylist, and dozens of aspiring models.

Just as soon as I arrived on set and we had all of our first time "size-ups", "hello's" and "how you doin's?" out of the way Mari and I got straight down to business.

Caption: Right, Mari J. Brooklyn is certainly the cool chick amidst many of NYC's hottest functions.

As we began to coast along Manhattans South Street Seaport and connected through varying decree's of mutual friends, Mari J. eventually opened up about her vision and by way suggested that I tackle a "rough and raw" urban look. She imposed that shooting me this way would suit me quite well being that my portfolio was so clean and didn't really have anything too "natural" going on anyway. Yet deep down inside my mind was scratching for anything but natural for that day. In the back of my thoughts I wanted to run, scream, jump back in a cab and hide like a little bitch wimp. If you know me personally then you know good and well how I feel about a bad photo! Not to mention for this particular day I was only working on about 5 hours of sleep and defintely relying on some good ole' natural man make-up to rid me of my sleepy eyes. Eh, whatever- I got over it.

To begin with, we condensed a few shots for the online magazine, Universe Magazine which Mari J. Brooklyn exclusively handles the street-style section for. Shout-out to my dear friend designer Jedda Kahn for allowing me snatch up his limited edition bear chain before hand. Moved along by my gritted expressions and this seemingly new and unused character of mine, Mari and I sparked a fresh conversation on modeling vs acting. We agreed that with modeling growing more and more lucrative every year that the acting world was truly where the mainstream success was. A place where respectable earnings flourish. Real money that today's "Supermodel" will probably never ever see but yesterday's Supermodel rightfully demanded. Even though modeling remains a deep passion of mine after all these years, this new comparison has definitely gotten my mind buzzing. Mari J. Brooklyn has definitely got me more then ready to throw-up my a middle finger to those generic "Model-Turned-Actor" cliche's!
Hoodie: The Gap     Jacket: Diesel
Jeans: Ksubi Jeans     Shirt: Topshop(London)
Chain: Jedda Kahn Collection    Watch: Kenneth Cole    Bracelet: Redd Merge Accessories
Shoes: Converse Special Edition high-tops.

As the thought of expanding on this additional chapter in my career grows on me I can't help but get excited as it's generally been of ease for me to gain small walk-on roles in the past. This is all humbly speaking of course.

Based upon my shoot with Mary J. Brooklyn, couldn't you all see me rocking it out in a plethora of street drama's like The Warrior's, The Wire, Law & Order, and Brooklyn's Finest?

Well, I guess we'll find out. ;-)

Check out my feature on: UniverseMagazine here.
You can also dig into my past appearance on ABC's hit show: Ugly Betty here.

Triumphant Discovery of the Street #2: The Giles Fashion Show.

While London Fashion Week has been brought to a close and everyone shuffles on over to the highly acclaimed Milan shows, I'll throw you something really quirky I snapped and forgot to post outside of the Giles show from Monday.
The "I'm trying to look like a character" look.

The head peice is dope, the jacket looks expensive, the sheer dress, socks, and shoes--I'm not a fan!  I'm always down with mixing the cheap w/ the expensive, but c'mon now. Not in such an obvious, dirty-sock looking way!

This young lady knew she was quite the character though which is why I'm sure she didn't mind jumping on the photo op.

What are your thoughts on her quirky style?

Here's a snap of what the outside of the Giles show worked itself out as. Very much a classic old English Victorian style building. Great selection and great theme Giles folks!

Holla,

-Triumph

Triumphant Discovery of the Street: London Fashion Week.

Our lovely Ms. Lily Niu raced her savvy self out there nice and bright and early amongst the madness in London today. Setting her sights on conquering some good street-style photojournalism for The Triumphant Scoop, she did just that in-between covering high-end shows for David Koma, Holly Fulton, and Todd Lynn. Lily graciously took the time to snap the hot shots below and chatter up these fine folks all while promoting our our latest segment, Triumphant Discovery's of the Street.

Look 1:
The "Hornet from Heaven" look. Ultra chic, powerful, and cute via the blue!

Look #2:
The "I'm so over Fashion Week" look. Love her hat!

Look #3:
The "I snuck to see shows on my lunch break" look. Love the lack of effort, wool jacket , bracelets and ring.

Look #4:
The "I should be in a Ralph Lauren ad" look. We all know that the gentlemen look never fails. The scarf, slacks and watch won me over.

Look #5:
The "Militant Swan" look. Leopard print and leather always go well. An excellent everyday look for any FW.

So what do YOU think of our Triumphant Discovery's of the Street?

Stay tuned,

Tony Triumph + Lily Niu
